Our Story
We love all things video & photography.
We have had the privilege of working with numerous international, national and local clients. Our clients trust us so much that we have even been asked to travel overseas for work. Some of our international work has included a promotional video for HELP Cambodia, wedding photography for a couple in Hawaii, video and photography for a client in New Zealand and a 10-day video shoot in Canada for a promotional video. We love working abroad, unfortunately Covid-19 meant cancelling 3 other international jobs including one in the USA and another in South Africa.
We’ve shot content for almost every major media outlet in the country including all the national news stations and current affairs programs as well as photography for all the major newspapers.
In 2012 we took on the video and photography contract for the RAAF base in Wagga Wagga where we shoot video and photography of the recruits during their training.
Our clients consist of some very well-known companies such as the Royal Australian Asir Force, TAFE NSW, Woolworths, Charles Sturt University, NSW SES, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, McDonalds, Syngenta, Monsanto, just to name a few.
We also shoot real estate photography and video content for a large number of local agents. So, anyone in the market to buy or sell a house will probably have seen our work.
While Grant originally started the business as a Sole Trader, in 2014 it became a Pty Ltd Company and now employs 4 staff and a handful of contractors.

Cut Above Productions is strategically based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, halfway between Melbourne and Sydney. We will travel far and wide for our clients, whether that be within NSW, Interstate or internationally.

After 5 years working as a Senior News Camera Operator at WIN Television, I loved the idea of starting my own business. I started Cut Above Productions while studying Television Production at Charles Sturt University. I ran it on the side of my work at WIN for about 5 years and then in 2010 Cut Above Productions became a full-time business.
Since then, I’ve shot for almost every network in the country and worked for local and national businesses helping them get their message to their audience. I was even lucky enough to spend 3 days working on a video with John Cleese in 2014.
I also spent a couple of years teaching Digital media at TAFE in Wagga Wagga.
I love everything to do with video and photography but my love for camera gear is closely matched by my obsession for fishing.

Grant and I actually started primary school together in a small Riverina town called Junee. We have been great mates all our lives.
After high school, I studied photography at University, and I moved to Melbourne. In 2016 I moved back to Wagga and started a permanent position with Cut Above Productions as well as running my own photography business.

I joined the Cut Above team in 2021 after finishing high school. I came on as a trainee video editor and have really found a career I am passionate about. I have always had a love for music, but video and photography have also created another avenue for me to express my creative side.
You will often find me busking in the main street of Wagga or playing a gig at a local venue.
